Can I change my email address?
Yes, you can make all kinds of changes to your booking. So if a typo was made at the time of booking, no worries, you can correct or update it. Log into the Online Check-in Portal to make changes to your personal details or your booking, like adding/removing accessories or updating the insurance.
Logging in is easy... All you need is your booking reference - check the confirmation email - and the last name of the person that made the booking aka the main hirer / main driver. Easy as.
The Online Check-in Portal opens when your booking is confirmed and closes on the day of pick-up. Changes can be made up until 7 days before arrival.

What is the regional depot service fee?
When you book a Spaceships campervan (direct or via a third party) you may see a Regional Depot Service Fee (previously Remote Location Fee) being added to your online booking, but only at select pick-up or drop-off locations.
The depots where it applies to are depots we run out of other businesses, these are not Spaceships owned depots. Therefore we have to pay a service fee to the operator, which we pass on to customers using that particular depot as pick-up or drop-off location. It's how we keep prices low and fair in the Spaceships Universe, you only pay for what you use.

What do we need to do before pickup? How to prepare for pick-up?
Please complete the Online Check-in as soon as possible. Your login details are your booking number and surname. You can find your booking/reservation number in the subject line of the emails we have sent you. You'll also need to upload a photos/copy of your license and any additional drivers in the pre-check-in process.

How to pay the bond or excess?
We require your card details on file - in our secure vault - for infringements and/or for your payment and bond if you have chosen the Basic Insurance ($5,000 bond) or Partial Insurance ($3,00 bond) options. The bond will be frozen one day before pickup. If there are any issues with pre-authorising the bond, you can contact your bank to resolve them.
The most common issue is that the daily limit for a pre-authorisation may be too low.
Paying the remaining balance
The final payment is due two days before pickup via our secure payment system. You can make the payment at any time before this deadline. If you encounter any issues with your payment, this allows you time to resolve them with your bank before your pickup.

Is there a minimum age to hire a Spaceships campervan in Australia?
How old do you have to be to hire a Spaceships campervan in Australia? A good question with a simple answer: anyone aged 18 and over with a valid driving licence can hire & drive a Spaceships campervan in Australia.
There is no fee for young drivers. It doesn't matter whether you are 18, 19, 20, 21 or 55, the price you see in our Online Booking Engine is the same, there are no hidden fees for any age group,

Do Aussie Spaceships campervans come with a toilet? Can I hire a portable toilet?
No, the Australian Spaceships fleet does not have campervans equipped with a toilet. Also, a portable toilet or Porta Potti isn't part of our range of optional accessories.

Can I hire a Spaceships campervan as a young driver: under 21 or under 25?
Yes, anyone 18 years or older with a valid driving licence can hire & drive a Spaceships campervan in Australia.
Check out all the info about renting a campervan for under 21s. Our campervans are easy to drive, even if you've never driven on the left side of the road. Spaceships drive like a good car and sleep like a campervan.

Can a dog or other pet travel on a Spaceship?
Spaceships are only for human Space Travellers to explore the outer space of Australia. Dog, pets, bots and extraterrestrials aren't allowed on a Spaceships in Australia. Sorry!

Can I hire a Spaceships campervan in New Zealand?

Can I make one booking for Australia & New Zealand campervan hire?
You'll need to make one booking for Australia campervan hire on the Spaceships Australia website and another booking for campervan hire in New Zealand on the Spaceships New Zealand website.

Can I lock the price and think about it before making a booking?
Yes you can! At Spaceships, our processes and system revolve around you, future Space Traveller (customer). Our online booking system gives you access to the most up-to-date availability and price data, the same data our crew uses. It'll always gives you the best price on your date/route combo. Guaranteed! If a deal or discount is active it will be applied automatically.
After selecting the date/route combo and campervan type on our online booking system, you have the option to make a booking or send a quote.
Create & send a quote to lock the price
When you send the quote to your email address it is officially saved into our booking system, which means you have locked the price of that quote. You then have X days to think about before the quote expires. X varies as it depends on the season, usually quotes are valid between 3 and 7 days, which is the time you have to think about it. This is mentioned clearly in the quote email you will receive.
By creating & sending that quote you have locked the price into our system, so even if the price increases in the next few days, you can still turn that quote into a booking at that lower price on your quote... As long as your quote hasn't expired. Therefore you shouldn't think too long about it, because once your quote expires you can't get it back.
So as soon as you have decided you want to make the booking, and the quote is still valid, you can turn it into a booking via the link in the quote email or be going to our quote booking system. Then follow the steps and tadaaa your quote is turned into a booking.

Can we extend our trip when already on the road? How to extend our trip?
It depends on our availability. If the vehicle has been booked or we are fully booked we won`t be able to extend the booking. If we have availability, then we can and are more than happy to extend your rental.
Therefore, we do recommend to contact us as soon as you know you want to stay on the road longer than originally planned.
There are no additional fees to extend the rental, you just pay the additional costs for the extra day(s).

I cant find my reservation or booking reference number
You can get a quote - which locks in the price - and make a booking via our easy-to-use booking system. It will always give you the lowest available price for your date/route combo.
From that moment you will have a five-digit quote or booking reference number. That number unlocks all other online systems in the Spaceships Universe, for example, the Online Check-in Portal (open from the moment your booking is confirmed).
If you have lost or forgotten this Spaceships reference number, just ask our friendly Aussie Crew. They are more than happy to look it up and send it to you. No worries.

Can I hire a Spaceship in other countries? For example, in New Zealand or the UK?

Each Spaceships country is locally owned and operated so your booking has to be made on the country's website (see above) and the local team is happy to answer all your questions.

Do you accept a provisional licence? (P-Licence/P-Plater)
A provisional (P) licence is accepted! As long as you are at least 18, have held your licence for 6 months and drive within terms of your licence.

Can I use my driving licence in Australia?
Australian law states if your driver's licence or permit is not in English you must carry an official English translation or an International Drivers licence. When uploading a photo of your driving licence to your booking via our Online Check-in Portal, make sure to only upload the front of your original driving licence.
Always bring your original driving licence and the English translation - official + International Driving Licence - when picking up your Spaceship.

Is there an upper age to hire a Spaceship?
Anyone can become a Space Traveller. And anyone 18 years or older with a valid driving licence can hire & drive a Spaceships campervan in Australia. There is no upper age limit. As long as you have a valid driving licence you can hire & drive one of our campervans.
